Philanthropy in Action
Supporting philanthropy and serving others has remained and remains a significant part of Delta Beta Sigma. As most may know, DBS is supporting the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) for the 2024-2025 term. RMHC’s mission is to provide comfort, care, and various resources to families whose children are undergoing medical treatment. Hence, our chapters have been diligently working to support these families by fundraising money. In addition to supporting RMHC, our chapters also support local charities in need. Read below to see the various events our chapters have hosted!
Primarily, Alpha Beta has hosted various Parents Night Out events where they have fundraised money by babysitting children! One of the nights included ornament painting- how fun! They even hosted a raffle booth!
Next is Beta Phi, and some of the philanthropy events they have hosted include Christmas tree decorating for the Veterans' Administration Medical Center, Trunk-or-Treat, Dreamcatchers 20th Anniversary, and some members ran in the Hustle for the House Run which supported RMHC!
Kappa Rho has also diligently been working to support various philanthropies! They have held a “Raffle for Ronald”, “Parents Night Out”, a car wash, “Send a Smile Baskets”, and supported local charities through volunteering!
Lambda has also been highly active in their community! They have made meals for the Ronald McDonald House, collected toys for their local animal shelter, volunteered at local concession stands, and donated various items to their local Ronald McDonald House.
To support the national and local philanthropies, Omega has volunteered at Toys for Tots and Miracle Rodeo, sold baked goods, distributed candy to children during the Halloween season, and much more!
In addition, Phi Delta has also been working hard in their community. They created Operation Christmas child boxes, volunteered at Stoby’s Fundraisers by making pancakes, hosting a change drive, and supporting their local philanthropies.
Last but not least, Tau washed cars at one of their local banks and hosted a raffle booth to raise money!
