Legacies
Legacy Introduction Form
Deadline: May 15th (for consideration in fall recruitment)
Delta Beta Sigma knows the value that legacies bring to our organization. In an effort to streamline communication between alumnae and a recruiting chapter, Delta Beta Sigma has developed this legacy introduction form. Alumnae may use this form to introduce a DBS legacy to a chapter.
Delta Beta Sigma Legacy Policy:
The responsibility and privilege of choosing members belongs to the chapter with the guidance of the chapter mothers and National Board of Regents.
A DBS legacy is someone whose sister, mother, grandmother, adoptive relative, half-sister, or step relative, if the relationship has been close, is (or was, in the case of a deceased member) a Delta Beta Sigma in good standing. A member in good standing is a member who has not resigned. Half and step relations are considered legacies if the DBS family member considers them as such.
Delta Beta Sigma chapters will consider introduced legacies during their recruitment process but legacies will not be given special treatment and are not guaranteed membership in Delta Beta Sigma. A legacy should be qualified on her own in regard to morals, scholarship, activities, accomplishments, honors, and group compatibility.
Since membership selection is confidential, no other communication will be forthcoming regarding the status of a legacy.
Legacy introduction forms will be emailed/mailed directly to the chapter as soon as possible. Some chapters begin forming invitation lists very early and after invitations have been sent, it may not be possible to reconsider or add even a legacy.
